Moda Lisboa starts today, and we take a glance to the brands we are going to step up the runway supporting new talents. Experienced brands and manufacturers have been doing it and some interesting mash ups emerged, joining experience and out-of-the-box creativity. Eureka X Guava, Kolovrat X Eureka, Buchinho X Helsar, Xperimental Shoes and SAYMYNAME, Alexandra Moura + Goldmud, Aleksandar Protik X Dkode,Nuno Gama and Eureka, Luis  Cravalho e Joana D’Graça are some examples. We do like to see Portuguese talents on the runway thus expecting more of it doesn’t seam odd at all.

Today we spotted some premieres like Banda x Nelson Oliveira, Duarte X Ten Toes, Patricia da Costa x Felmini. On our way  to catch up with them backtsage and cover it live. Curious? So wellcome to Moda Lisboa Curiouser.

Nuno Gama - As Portuguese as he can be

As an epic poem, Nuno Gama’s SS14 collection is a combination of strophes and verses, from the ceramic handpainted wigs, to the posh and impeccable tailored suites ending in apotheosis - hand made and unique shoes painted by Nuno Gama himself.

Luis de Camões, the Portuguese old poet, who spread the word about the incredible Lusitania armada that crossed the seas, from occidental to oriental lands and wrote the LVSIADAS would be honored by Nuno’s amazing paintings. 

Fashion is a statement of art, and all the experience the designer achieved through more than 25 of experience keep giving the crowd freshness and innovation and new challenges ( a Women Collection is on it’s way for next season!!!)

The man shoes are just a piece of art, and they should leave the well dressed fee, after good use, to an art and fashion museum. What a great job! This is a postponed collaboration between the designer Eureka, who produces what goes from Gama’s mind. Leather shoes and boots, and also canvas versions are such an amazing choice for next SS14.

Partnerships in the name of Shoes

We all should know that shoes and accessories are of main importance when combining a outfit. You can only use a little black dress, bought at a flea market, and use a stunning pair of shoes…you will be amazing, we bet. But why are we making a statement already been made by several one’s? Because the difference is at the Shoes!!! And We Trend For Shoes has a major responsibility on that…

This Moda Lisboa, designers, more than ever, payed attention to the shoes they combined with their collections. Why were they wasting the knowledge of Portuguese footwear industry. If Isabel Marant, Raf Simmons, Jimmy Choo, Christian Louboutin, Prada, Guess, Zara, Uterque, Lous Vuitton produce their shoes here, why Portuguese designers don’t use the resources available?

And finally they did. As a major example, Luis Buchinho postponed las season partnership with Helsar, Nuno Gama with Eureka, and now Nuno Baltazar started with JJ Heitor Shoes hopping he can develop a shoe collection himself. The manufacturers gave us an interview on the last day of shows, and we could realize how important this collaborations are.
